Competition Rules & Format:
Climbing:
Competition will follow a redpoint format. Climbers must go from the bottom to the top of a climb without falling or weighting the rope, using only the marked holds for that route. Points will be awarded for each successful climb. Climbers can do as many routes as they want and will be scored on their top 3 completed climbs. Climbs will range from difficulty level of 5.5 to 5.12 and more points will be allocated for greater difficulty.

Bouldering:
Competition will follow a modified USA Climbing  redpoint open format and problems will be
peer-judged. Boulderers must go from the bottom to the top of a problem without falling using only the marked holds for that route. Points will be awarded for each successful problem. Boulderers can do as many problems as they want and will be scored on their top 4 completed problems. Problems will range from difficulty level of V0 to V6 and more points will be allocated for greater difficulty problems. Tie-breaker will be determined by the number of attempts to complete each problem successfully.

Note: Competition format is subject to change based on final registrations and RMSG Commissioners' discretion.

Dress Code: Closed-toed shoes are required for all climbers, no exceptions. Participants are permitted to bring and wear their own shoes if they meet required climbing standards. For horizontal cave exploration, long pants are required and knee pads are recommended.  Climbing shoes and caving knee pads are available to rent at CityROCK and Sport Climbing Center.
