Rocky Mountain State Games

The Rocky Mountain State Games (RMSG) is a multi-sport festival for athletes of all ages and athletic abilities including those with physical disabilities or visual impairment. Recognized by the National Congress of State Games, a member of the United States Olympic Committee, the 2016 Rocky Mountain State Games will be held July 22-24 & 29-31, primarily in Colorado Springs, CO.

NOTE: The above sports list is tenatative. Sports offered in the 2016 will be finalized and announced by January 15, 2016. 


The State Games concept was developed in New York in 1978 with the Empire State Games. Annually, more than 400,000 athletes compete in State Games nationwide. State Games feature various sports from the Olympic and Pan American Games programs as well as sports with regional popularity in each state. 

The Rocky Mountain State Games has partnered with TrueSport, a program powered by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to teach athletes the values and life lessons learned through sport. TrueSport seeks to ensure a positive youth experience by educating athletes, parents and coaches about clean competition, sportsmanship, and peak performance.
