Star Spangled Symphony & Fourth of July Fireworks

Get ready for the largest 4th of July event with fireworks erupting across the Pikes Peak Region. Enjoy the Colorado Springs Philharmonic’s annual patriotic concert broadcast from your favorite radio station – all from a front row seat when you volunteer at one of our locations!

Rocky Mountain State Games

July 19-21 

The Rocky Mountain State Games (RMSG) is Colorado’s largest multi-sport festival for athletes of all ages and athletic abilities including those with physical disabilities or visual impairment. More than 10,000 athletes are expected to participate in 30+ sports in the 2024 RMSG event and more than 300 volunteers are needed to successfully run this event. The 2024 Rocky Mountain State Games will be held primarily July 19-21 in Colorado Springs.

Volunteer/Officials Roles: The need for general volunteers varies by sport but may be needed for a variety of tasks including: athlete check-in, information booths, set-up/tear-down, course marshals, scoring, timing, hospitality and many other activities.

Downtown summer fest

Saturday, July 27

Don’t miss Downtown Summer Fest, a dynamic event brought to you by Colorado Springs Sports Corporation and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum. Join us on July 27th for a day filled with excitement, starting with the 5K Rocky Mountain Run/Walk & Kids Dash. After the race, cross Park Union Bridge to the museum for the Paris Olympics kickoff, featuring sports and cultural demonstrations, live music, community engagement with 40+ partners and vendors, and the thrill of watching Olympic & Paralympic competition on the big screen in the Museum Plaza. Be part of the festivities as Olympic City USA rallies behind Team USA!

The Broadmoor Cycle to the Summit

Saturday, August 10

The Broadmoor Cycle to the Summit is a breathtaking bicycle race up Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain. Literally. Sanctioned by USA Cycling, this competitive style hill climb consists of multiple medal categories giving cyclists of all skill levels the opportunity to take on Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain.

Pikes Peak regional airshow

August 17 & 18

The Pikes Peak Regional Airshow, which soars over two days to honor our nation’s military heritage through skilled and complicated performances done by incredibly restored aircraft. The Pikes Peak Regional Airshow brings out many families and individuals from the community to celebrate the history and performance of these planes. Volunteer opportunities include parking, admissions, merchandise, and much more!

Labor Day Lift Off

August 31-September 2

More than 70 hot air balloons are expected to participate and 200,000+ spectators will come out to participate in balloon glows for the festival’s Saturday and Sunday evening schedules. 

Volunteer opportunities include assisting with event operations including parking, VIP hospitality, beer garden, etc. Note, the more sessions you volunteer for the more benefits you can get!

Saturday, August 31:
Morning shift: approx. 4:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Evening shift: approx. 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Sunday, September 1:

IJRU World Jump Rope Championships

July 16-23

The IJRU World Jump Rope Championships will be held at Ed Robson Arena the week of July 16-23! More than 1,000 jump ropers from across the world will converge to compete and determine who will be crowned the world champion.
