Colorado Springs, Colorado — The International Jump Rope Union, the international federation for the sport of jump, in partnership with the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, today announced tickets are on-sale for the 2023 World Jump Rope Championships.

The event will be a combination of the World Championships, as well as the International Open Tournament and the Junior World Championships and be held July 16-23, 2023. The feature sessions for the World Championship event will be July 21-23.

There will be three phases of ticket sales:

  • May 8 – “Single Day Tickets” for each feature night of the World Championships of either July 21, 22 or 23

Tickets are on-sale via Ticketmaster. The IJRU also has provided a ticket overview and FAQ sheet.

The event will have 1,000 athletes and 3,000 total participants (athletes, coaches and officials) from more than 30 countries and will mark the first time the event will be held in Colorado Springs. Featured events include:

  • Double Dutch Contest – urban culture fuses with acrobatics, dance and music
  • Single Rope and Double Dutch Speed – the fastest jumpers alive
  • Single Rope and Double Dutch Freestyle – acrobatics with unlimited skill combinations and endurance

All spectator events will be held at the state-of-the-art Ed Robson Arena on the Colorado College campus, marking the first major international event to be slated for the multipurpose space.

“We’re inspired by the community support of Colorado Springs for our marquee event with the best jump rope athletes in the world,” said Shaun Hamilton, IJRU President. “The atmosphere will be electric for some mind-blowing performances and athletes.”

“The World Jump Rope Championships put Colorado Springs in the global spotlight,” said Megan Leatham, CEO of the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation. “Trust me, you won’t’ want to miss this event in our community.”

Previous sites of the World Championships include Oslofjord (near Oslo), Norway in 2019 and Shanghai, China, and Orlando, Florida (USA) in 2018. Two events were held that year as two organizations eventually merged to form the IJRU. The 2021 World Jump Rope Championships were held virtually due to the pandemic.
